Gov. Joseph Marañon has designated Vice Gov. Isidro Zayco as acting governor of Negros Occidental from April 8 to 16 to ensure continuous and effective delivery of basic and social services during his absence.

Marañon said he is designating Zayco even though he will be out of Negros Occidental for only three working days, April 10 and 12.

The rest of next week are public holidays to mark Holy Week.
