Ceres, JS Shell five
collide in NBA tilt

Ceres Liners will collide with JS Shell shortly after the opening of the 2006 Negros Basketball Association-Mayor's Cup Summer Basketball Tournament at 4:30 p.m. today at the Po Hang Gym of Bacolod Tay Tung High School.

Former Negros Slashers stalwarts Leo Bat-og, Carlos Sayon and John Lim are expected to lead Ceres against last year's runner up JS Shell that will be bannered the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos cagers of coach Ireneo Morales.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia has been invited to be the guest speaker during the opening rites of the tournament that has adopted a double elimination round format, NBA president Oscar "Dodong" Bascon said.

The selection of the Miss NBA-Mayor's Cup 2006 will also be staged to add color to the opening ceremonies, he said.

NBA treasurer Vic Tan said the ticket prices for the bleacher and reserve areas are pegged at P10 and P30, respectively.

Games tomorrow will see the Ceres Liners of Roy Yanson playing against Sipalay Stingers at 4 p.m., before JS Shell faces Toyota Bacolod-Iloilo Warriors at 5:30 p.m. The Sipalay cagers will take on the Warriors at 6 p.m. on Monday. *CIT
