The Department of Labor and Employment has announced that around 50,000 job opportunities are currently posted on-line by local and global employment providers in the computerized Phil-Jobnet system.

The Bureau of Local Employment said in a press release that about 65 percent of these are local job opportunities while 35 percent consist of overseas vacancies.

The top 20 vacancies currently available in the system include customer service assistants (12,078), professional nurses (8,059), technical support staff (3,304), computer systems engineers (2,000), and agents (1,520), it said.

Others are for information technology specialists (1,015), domestic helpers (1,497), sales coordinators (1,001), door-to-door salespersons (1,000), production workers (650), salesmen (650), production machine operators (594), promo staff (551), service crew (535), cashiers (342), waiters (290), sales clerks (258), janitors (252), staff nurses (250), waitresses (242), laboratory technicians (240), and others, the press release from BLE said.

There are 1,200 position titles with vacancies in the Phil-Jobnet system provided by some 107 employers as of March 27.

The BLE said that many of these job opportunities require college education while some are open to high school graduates, and most require no or less than a year of work experience.

The Phil-Jobnet system provides opportunities to job seekers on a year-round basis, which may vary in numbers as these are filled up and replenished by employers, the press release said.

It is accessible to both job searchers and employers at its Internet address of www.phil-job.net or www.dole.gov.ph.*
