Police to reinvestigate
slay of seaman's wife

Bacolod City police director, Senior Supt. Pedro Merced, yesterday said he has directed the Bacolod Scene of Crime Operatives to start another investigation on the murder of Ruth Zamora, wife of a seaman who was brutally killed in her residence at Woodside Subdivision, Brgy. Alijis, Bacolod City on Dec. 18, 2004.

Merced said the SOCO's investigation will start from zero and will gather again evidences in order to identify the suspect. He said the investigation by the Precinct 7 policemen led by Insp. Augustos Buenaventura has proven futile.

He said Robert Zamora, husband of the victim, came to his office last week to be updated on the development of the case. He said he assured Zamora that they will do their best to solve the case and give justice to Ruth, then 33.

In an interview over ABS-CBN Bacolod, Zamora said he is willing to give P50,000 as reward to any person who can help him and the police identify the suspect.

Ruth's body was found bathed in her own blood, with multiple hack wounds in her head, arm and other parts of her body.*DMG
