LTO-Bacolod's collection
up 47.83% in first quarter

Total collection of the Land Transportation Office in Bacolod City in the first quarter of 2006 increased by 47.83 percent to P46.174 million, from only P31.235 million in the same period last year.

Collection increased by P14.939 million from January to March this year, the comparative quarterly report of the LTO-Bacolod City District Office shows.

The agency collected P15.138 million in January; P15.059 million, in February; and P15.975 million, in March.

From registration of vehicles, the agency earned P38.701 million. The figure increased by 41.75 percent or P11.397 million compared to only P27.303 in the first three months last year.

It collected P12.791 million in January this year; P12.653 million, in February; and P13.256 million, in March.

The number of units registered in the first quarter of 2006, including private, government and for hire, soared by 66.45 percent or by 8,986 vehicles.

From January to March this year, LTO-Bacolod registered 22,509 vehicles compared to only 13,523 in the same period in 2005.

Of the total number, 18,789 are private; 283, government; and 3,437, for hire.

Collection from apprehension increased by more than 113 percent or P1.0721 million to P2.021 million, from only P949,027 in 2006.

Apprehension cases rose by 76.70 percent to 6,759 vehicles in the first three months this year, from only 3,825 vehicles, last year.*NLG
