Crismar overwhelms
Weesam to gain top spot

Crismar Enterprises drubbed Weesam Express, 60-48, for its second straight victory in the 2nd Conference of the Your Basketball Athletic Club Presidential Cup basketball tournament at the Manville Royale Gym in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City recently.

Roger Jaype canned 22 of his game-high 27 points in the fourth quarter to seal the win for Crismar, which grabbed the lead in the team standings with a 2-0 slate.

Meanwhile, MJ Enterprises registered a 74-66 come-from-behind triumph over Ox Builders in the first game to barge into the win column of the tournament.

Trailing 42-45 going into the payoff period, Joemarie Panisales and Dods Siopan combined for 15 points in the final quarter to spearhead MJ's comeback.

Siopan and Nonoy Pacheco shot 11 points each to power the offense of MJ, while Panisales and Ed Desabelle contributed 9 and 8 markers, respectively.

Leading Ox Builder's offense were Ramil Jaype and Val Resuma after they scored 10 points each as Aleph Esparagoza and Manuel Carreon chipped in 7 points apiece.

Backstopping Crismar's Jaype against Weesam were Noel Morancil and Agustin Javarro, who registered 8 points each, while Joffrey Lim added 6 markers.

Pacing Weesam in a losing cause was Embo Caņete as he poured in 17 points as Sam Cordova picked 10 markers. Also making contributions for Weesam were Edwin Fregil, James Jaruda and Al Rosal after they combined 20 points. *CIT
