Recollection set for
Bacolod media

The Commission on Social Communications of the Diocese of Bacolod will hold a Lenten Recollection on the theme "Love and Renewal," for Bacolod media practitioners, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Holy Saturday, April 15, at the Sacred Heart Seminary, the diocese announced yesterday.

Registration will start at 8 a.m. to be followed by an orientation by Fr. Felix Pasquin, chairman of the Commission on Social Communications, and a talk on "Deus Caritas Est" at 9 a.m., by Fr. Nitodel Soriano.

A group discussion will follow at 10 a.m., and Jaime Golez will talk on Reality of Self, later.

The afternoon session will start with Jess Gregori's talk on Path to Renewal at 1 p.m., group discussion, and a discussion by Fr. Pasquin, on Renewal in the Light of the Synod, at 2:30 p.m, to be followed by an open forum.

A message by Bacolod Bishop Vicente Navarra will cap the recollection.

Dog bags hall of fame award

A 5-year-old Rottweiler named Zaak Imo Pectore owned by Negrense Manuel Magadia Jr. bagged the Philippine Hall of Fame award, recently.

Zaak, known for his superior conformation and excellent movement, is a five-time "Best in Show" winner, three of them decided by foreign judges.

It also recently won "Best in Specialty Show" in the 110th Philippine Rottweiler Club Specialty Show judged by Fred Alimush from Thailand, held at the Quezon City Hall grounds, Quezon City, in Metro Manila.

Zaak was also adjudged Champion of Poland and has earned the IPO 1 Working Title.*Radjie Caram Jr.

USLS to host writing gab

The University of St. La Salle will host the 6th IYAS Creative Writing Workshop for 15 qualified fellows, from April 25 to May 1, at USLS, in Bacolod City, a press release from the school said yesterday.

The workshop will be co-sponsored by the De La Salle University and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.

Panelists for the workshop will be Bobby Villasis, Dr. Marjorie Evasco, Professor Genevieve from DLSU and Dr. Elsie Coscolluela and Rayboy Pandan from USLS, the press release said.
