top qualifying

Julio Garlica of Bago City Bowlers Association/Plaza Arcade, and Tess Robles of Firefly emerged as the top qualifiers in the battle of the top 10 bowlers in their respective division, of the ongoing Knights of Columbus 5665 Invitational Open Bowling Tournament at the New Top's Millennium Plaza in Bacolod City.

In topping the event, Garlica smashed 109.77 pinfalls averaged per game in the men's category, while Robles posted 105.06 in the distaff bracket.

Challenging them in a do-or-die confrontation for the master bowler crown are Fred Empio, of Sharp with 109,07; Hernand Garciniego, NPBC LJP Trading Tough Trucks, 108.63; Boy Conag, Urban Knights, 107.93; Rey Gargar, Panasonic, 107.22; Fred Trecho, TC Silverado/Active Solid Srtikers, 107.13; July Borlado, Brgy.I Solid Strikers, 106.31; Allan Baer, TC Silverado/ASSFBI, 106.15; Celso Serfino, Knights of Columbus, 106.15, and Romeo Suarez, NPBC LJP Trading, 106.13 in the men's division;

Sylvia del Rosario, Lady Circle, 105.06; Cecil Biendo, Lady Dragon, 104.44; Cora Romero, ON-BACIBA, 104.39; Lars del Castillo, ON-BACIBA, 102.78; Clara Pajarilla, Lady Dragon, 101.73; Susan Robles, NPBC Kusina Trese, 100.94; Mila Garraton, Lady Dragon, 100.28; Tess Aplaon, Lady Circle, 98.83, and Margie Bayog, 98.83.

The tournament's individual awardees will play three games each, and the top four survivors will engage in an up-the-ladder competition to determine the champion. The battle for the coveted master bowler title is set on Thursday, April 6 starting at 6 p.m.*HLG
