A security guard employed by the Solid Security and General Services
is facing charges of illegal possession of firearms for allegedly
firing warning shots to two lovers in front of the Lee Super Plaza
after midnight yesterday, at San Jose Street, Dumaguete City.
The suspect, Fredie de Guzman, was detailed to the Lee Super
Plaza when he fired the warning shots using his .38 caliber revolver
service firearm, police said.
Responding police officers led by SPO4 Eli Agapay brought
the blue guard to the police station for failure to present supporting
documents for the firearm.
He presented only a duty detail order.
De Guzman said, however, that he was forced to fire the warning
shots because unidentified youngsters threw stones at him.
Police recovered from the scene of shooting the homemade .38 caliber
revolver, two live ammunition and one spent shell.*
