Grandma mistakes kerosene
for water, boy lands in hospital
BY DONALYN GUERRERO

A one-and-a-half-year old baby boy landed in the hospital after his grandmother reportedly gave him kerosene, instead of water in Purok Himaya, Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City, at about 6:25 p.m. Saturday.

Baby Jonmar Gonzales was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital for vomiting and chest pain, hospital reports said.

The baby's grandmother reportedly mistook the kerosene for water because it was placed in a mineral water bottle, hospital reports said. Meanwhile, the body of Nestor de la Cruz Biasca, 50, married, of Brgy. Daga, Cadiz City was found in his room at about 2 a.m. yesterday, duty investigator SPO1 Mario Ecostan said.

Ecostan said medical reports showed that Biasca, a family driver of Sonny Taokta of Brgy. 39 died of cardiac arrest. Meanwhile, the naked man believed to be drowned was found floating at the sea at the Bacolod reclamation area, Brgy. 35 in Bacolod City at about 1:15 p.m. Saturday.

Nobe Biason, about 25 years old, single, of Brgy. Vista Alegre, Bacolod City was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital with minor bruises, Ecostan said.

Residents in the area told the police they saw Biason swimming in the sea before the incident. The police is still investigating the case.*DMG
