2 more drug suspects
arrested in Looc raid

Two more men named in the drugs watchlist of the Task Force 24 were apprehended in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Looc, Dumaguete City.

Arrested was Reynaldo Mariņo Awid, 25, single, of Meciano Road, Barangay Taclobo.

Inspector Teddy Faburada, head of the buy-bust team, said their operation followed a tip about the presence of Awid who had been the subject of a three-month surveillance operation but could not be captured because he was "too slippery."

Best NFA employee from NegOr

The Registration and Licensing officer of the National Food Authority in Oriental Negros was chosen as the Best NFA Employee in Central Visayas for 2004.

Elizabeth Guirit Delfino bested the other nominees from several NFA offices in Region 7, due to her 30 years of outstanding work performance and significant contributions, NFA information officer Rolando Lazalita, said in a press release.

Delfino was also cited for her dedication and contribution to the continued good relationship between the grains agency and the businessmen and millers in the province, by going out of her way to ensure that stakeholders are updated on the various programs of NFA.

BUHI Foundation
sponsors scholars

The scholarships of two students who will take up Masters in Coastal Resource Management at the Silliman University, Dumaguete City will be sponsored by the BUHI Marine Worldwide Supply Inc.

The scholars are Norberto Riego and Irene Rafil, engineer Bonifacio Comandante, said adding that there are also other possibilities for students to avail of the same privilege.

Riego and Rafil said Coastal Resource Management is a great field to study in and that they are thankful for the scholarship.
