2 more drug suspects
arrested in Looc raid

Two more men named in the drugs watchlist of the Task Force 24 were apprehended in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Looc, Dumaguete City.

Arrested was Reynaldo Mariņo Awid, 25, single, of Meciano Road, Barangay Taclobo.

Inspector Teddy Faburada, head of the buy-bust team, said their operation followed a tip about the presence of Awid who had been the subject of a three-month surveillance operation but could not be captured because he was "too slippery."

He identified the other suspected illegal drug dealer as Bonifacio Quillano, 37, married, a porter residing in Barangay Looc.

Operatives recovered from the suspects two transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, marked as "BB-Awid-Looc" and "POSI-Awid-Looc"; shabu paraphernalia; and P530 in cash believed to be proceeds from sales of illegal drugs.

Police also confiscated improvised burners marked "POS2-Awid-Looc", and "POS3-Awid-Looc," respectively, a tooter marked "POS4-Awid-Looc," and 19 empty plastic transparent sachets with traces of white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, marked as " POS5-Awid-Looc".

The Task Force 24 is composed of the provincial offices of the National Bureau Investigation, Philippine National Police in Dumaguete City, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Criminal Investigation and Detection group.*RG
