The Bantayan police officer and his wife who complained that they
lost valuables and cash while staying at the Bacolod Pension House
on Saturday, and three of its employees will be subjected this week
to polygraph tests to clarify doubts in the investigation, Supt.
Pedro Merced said yesterday.
Merced said he has asked the National Bureau of Investigation
to administer a polygraph test on front desk clerk Liza Arroyo,
bellboy Jose Allan Cordova, and security guard Joel Anino, of Bounty
Security Agency as well as on complainants, SPO1 Romeo Elisgar Batiancilla,
detailed at the Bantayan police station, and his wife, Rina.
The couple had reported to Police Precinct 1 that they lost
P28,000 in cash, a wristwatch worth P10,000 and sunglasses worth
P45,000 while they were sleeping at Room 208 of the Bacolod Pension
House at Cuadra Street in Bacolod City Saturday.
Meanwhile, Orville Ong, manager of the Bacolod Pension Hotel,
denied the involvement of his employees in the incident.
He said he is urging the couple to validate their identities
first and their claim that they had been robbed in the premises
of the pension house.
Merced said he has ordered Senior Insp. Joeresty Coronica,
chief of the Bacolod Intelligence and Investigation, to assist Senior
Insp. Edel Jose Manzano, Police Precinct 1 station commander and
investigate the case further.
The results of the polygraph examination will help in the investigation
because the police are still facing a blank wall on the identities
of the suspect or suspects, Merced added.*DMG
