DepEd official
facing complaints
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

Administrative and criminal complaints were filed against an official of the Bacolod Division of Schools-Department of Education Culture and Sports by a casual employee of the Bacolod City government detailed at the department.

The complainant, who requested her name withheld, charged her immediate superior, Dr. Luisito Escalona, the Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, of allegedly making advances toward her on Sept. 9. She said she was taking a nap at the Division Office between 12 noon to 1 p.m., when Escalona entered the office and went near her. She said she got up when she sensed someone coming and arranged her table. She added that Escalona asked her how she was and if she had eaten her lunch, and suddenly, put his arm around her shoulder and tried to steal a kiss which landed on her cheek.

She said that when she walked towards the door, Escalona followed her and again placed his arm around her shoulder with what she thought was a gesture of apology, but, to her surprise he forcibly kissed her again on the cheek while she parried him. He only walked away when he sensed that she was becoming hysterical, she added.

She said the incident made her experience sleepless nights, mental anguish and depression.

Escalona, however, denied the allegations of the complainant and said he was only doing his job as a good father to his family and that he treats everybody in his workplace equally.

Escalona said he is a resource speaker of a religious program called "Kamatuoran sa Bombo" every Sunday from 5 to 6 p.m. over DYWB Bombo Radyo. He said the program is hosted by Pastor Paquito Padilla and Rey Entila. He said he also has a program over DYVS every Saturday morning entitled "Bangud sa Bugay Na Luwas Kita."*CGS
