Ayala Cup finals tonight

Hoping to ride on the momentum of their impressive semifinal victories, High Flex and Ayala BC collide for the 3rd Ayala Cup Basketball Tournament crown at 6 tonight at the Ayala Northpoint Clubhouse in Talisay City.

The odds favor the defending champion Ayala BC cagers, who are going into the match buoyed by an 87-62 crushing of N and G Construction in the semifinals.

Neil Lizares, Peter Locsin, Cedric Somera and CB Lacson punctured N and G's lackluster defense, combining for 67 points. Also helping Ayala's cause were Junjit Varela, Jacob Pimentel and Onemig Golez.

High Flex, however, cannot be taken lightly since it has remained unscathed in five games with Mayo Unson, Clinton Legaspi and Wiggy Colmenares leading the attack.

The trio is expected to bear the brunt anew for High Flex, which is coming off a hard-earned 61-55 victory over Ayala-Makati in the semis. They will get support from Cliff Prinsipe, Tony Agustin, Leorey Yanson and Gary Valera, who will come off the bench.

After the game, a victory party will be held at the North Bar and Restaurant, league organizers said. *CPT
