8 squads joining
national U-19 tilt

Eight squads will vie for the Philippine Football Federation-Adidas Men's Under-19 National Championship crown from Oct. 26-31 at the Manuel Y. Torres Sports Center in Bago City.

Defending champion Davao City Football Association will be pitted against National Capital Region FA, Masbate FA, Rizal FA, Negros Occidental FA, Iloilo FA, Zamboanga City FA and Iligan FA.

NCRFA will be represented by Ateneo de Manila, while NOFA and Iloilo FA will send the West Negros College and Barotac Nuevo booters, respectively.

The Norman Fegidero-mentored WNC squad beat the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, 5-2, in the NOFA Provincial Football Championships Under-19 finals last month to earn the right of representing NOFA in the national tournament.

NOFA secretary-general Warren Concepcion said the eight teams will be divided into two brackets with the top two squads in each bracket advancing to the semifinals.

The top seed in bracket A will battle the second seed in bracket B, while the top squad in bracket B will face the second seed in bracket A during the semifinal-round, he added.

The eliminations will run from Oct. 26 to 28; Oct. 29 will be the rest day; Oct. 30 will be the semifinals, and Oct. 31 will be the finals. *CIT
