A total of 37,000 bags of iron-fortified rice will
be shipped to Negros Occidental this October, the National Food
Authority Provincial Office said.
The shipment comprises the initial iron-fortified
rice stocks that will be supplied to the province early this month,
NFA Information Officer Grizelda Arceņo told the DAILY STAR.
Arceņo said the iron-fortified rice can be bought
from accredited NFA retailers at P21 per kilo.

Raw sugar stocks ("B") of Victorias Milling Company
remained at last week's bidding price of P910 per Lkg, the Sugar
Master Plan Foundation reported.
But the Sagay Central Inc. sold higher, at P930
per Lkg, this week.
At the bidding held in Bacolod City Thursday, VMC
sold a total volume of 25,529.52 Lkgs. It disposed 20,317.39 Lkgs
the previous week.

brownouts set
A nine-hour brownout is scheduled today in some
areas of Alijis in Bacolod City to facilitate a preventive maintenance
work, a press release from the Central Negros Electric Cooperative
said.
Affected areas under Alijis Feeder 3 are those
along the Circumferential Road to Barangay Handumanan and Gimena
Road, going to Grandville Subdivision and Regent Pearl Homes.
On Sunday, two 15-minute brownouts are scheduled
from 7 a.m. to 7:15 a.m. and from 4:45 p.m. to 5 p.m. also to
conduct preventive maintenance work for Bacolod-Reclamation 69KV
transmission lines, the press release said. Affected areas are
those under Reclamation Feeders 1, 2 and 3 and Aljis Feeders 1,
2, 3, 4, 6, 7 and 8.
