City gears up for
World Aids Day tomorrow

The World AIDS Day celebration on the theme "Undangon ang AIDS, Pana-ad Tumanon, Maghiusa Alang Sa Kabataan, Maghiusa sa Pagsanta sa AIDS" in Dumaguete City will kick off with a street parade from the Freedom Park and will culminate at the Quezon Park at 3 p.m. tomorrow.

The parade will be participated in by the different schools, institutions, non-government organizations and government organizations in the city. It will be spearheaded by Dr. Fe Sycip-Wale, project manager of the Negros Oriental HIV/AIDS Prevention Project of the Silliman University Extension Program-Marina Clinic.

The celebration aims at highlighting the global campaign to protect children from AIDS. Other activities are the Kapihan forum on Dec. 7 and Quiz Bowl competitions for the youth.

Wale urged residents and those interested to join the celebration and express their commitment to fight AIDS.*RG
