Two more persons found guilty of violating the illegal drugs law, were sentenced to life imprisonment by Regional Trial Court Branch 30 Judge Rafael Crescensio Tan Jr. during yesterday's promulgation at the Hall of Justice, in Barangay Piapi, Dumaguete City.

Meted life imprisonment for violating section 5 Article II, of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were Jay Villacaol and Edgar Leonor.

They were also ordered to pay fines of P300,000 and P500,000, respectively, and to be shipped to the National Bilibid Penitentiary in Muntinlupa City, after the finality of judgment.

Villacaol and Leonor were both found guilty beyond reasonable doubt by the court for having been caught selling 0.06 grams and 0.08 grams of shabu to a poseur-buyer during a buy-bust operation conducted by the police.

At least five persons have been convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for violating the drugs law by RTC Branch 30 this month, three last week, and two yesterday.*RG
