Theft charges were filed yesterday before the City Prosecutor's
office against the three Bacolod residents arrested in the act of
removing Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. cable wires worth
P100,000 in Brgy. Cabug, Bacolod City, Wednesday.
Supt. Pedro Merced, Bacolod police officer-in-charge, yesterday
said they may also file charges against junk shop owner Antonio
Yee for violation of the Anti-Fencing Law.
A kilo of PLDT cable wires and 1 and 1/4 kilos of streetlight
wires were recovered by the Precinct 9 operatives from his junk
shop.
Darwin Cabahosa Tabo Tabo, 21, married, of Kahirup Village,
Brgy. Sincang-Airport, a former helper of a PLDT contractor; Mar
John Mahinay Lozada, 19, of Brgy. Pta. Taytay; and tricycle driver
Vicente Aurelio Manese, of Brgy. Tangub, were nabbed Wednesday for
allegedly stealing 100 meters of cable wire from the PLDT post in
Brgy. Cabug, police reports said.
Meanwhile, Merced said the case of Sion David Geocadin, 20,
a student of the STI College, who was allegedly mauled by a kiosk
employee and four suspected members of the 6th Regional Mobile Group
on Oct. 19, is considered solved after the case was filed at the
City Prosecutor's Office on Oct. 26.
Establishing the identities of four other suspects is one of the
problems faced by the police because several witnesses, including
a member of the 6th RMG, surfaced, but had failed to identify who
among the troopers were involved in the crime, Merced added.*DMG
