The Rams nipped the six-time defending champion Mustangs, 85-84, during their first encounter of the elimination-round, before clipping the Wesnecans anew, 60-57, in their second game.

"We are practicing doubly hard because we have already lost to UNO-R twice", WNC coach Elvis Atinado told the DAILY STAR.

A ranking official of West Negros College denied yesterday reports that it is backing out from its hosting of the 23rd Southeast Asian Games indoor volleyball competitions from Nov. 27 to Dec. 5 at the WNC Gym in Bacolod City.

"We are not backing out," WNC director Anthony Agustin said brushing aside reports (not in the DAILY STAR) that the West Negros management is giving up hosting the indoor volleyball games.

Agustin, who also serves as the Committee on Sports Management Development Office chairman, said he wants to clear the names of the Bacolod SEAG Organizing Committee and WNC regarding the issue.
