Farmers deplore
military 'hit list'

Farmers in three remote barangays of Guihulngan town, Oriental Negros, deplored an alleged military list containing the names of about 23 members of Bayan Muna, Kaugmaon, and Karapatan supposed to be targets for liquidation.

Representatives of the organizations disclosed the existence of the hit list at a press conference called by the Promotion of Church People's Rights in Barangay Piapi, Dumaguete City Thursday.

The list allegedly included Fr. Wendy Sediego, district chairman of Karapatan; Emilia Quirante, chairperson of Hugpong Kaugmaon in Hilaitan, Guihulngan; Zacarias Tapales also of Kaugmaon and his wife, Amy Tapales,

scene continues

Looting continued at some of the establishments burned Sunday at corner Dr. V. Locsin and Perdices streets, Dumaguete City.

Julian Santiago Jr., manager of Sanco Bicycle Center, reported to the police that, despite the presence of security guards, about 20 looters carted away some valuables from the store at about 1 p.m. Thursday.

He said the items include a steel door worth P15,000, five bicycle frames worth P5,000, three empty gas tanks worth P4,200, 30 bicycle chains worth P500, 15 bicycle handles worth P4,500, and 20 bicycle cranks worth P3,230.
