CHMSC booters
power Area III to title

Area III blanked Area IV, 3-0, to claim the elementary boys' football crown in the 2005 Palarong Panlalawigan at the Panaad pitch in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City recently.

Powered by eight booters from the Carlos Hilado Memorial State College, Area III also beat Area IV, 3-1, in their first encounter to forge a winner-take-all title showdown.

Booters from the Talisay South Elementary School, Don Bosco and Epifanio Lizares Elementary School also came up big for the Area III squad that edged defending champion Area I, 2-1, to face the twice-to-beat Area IV team in the finals.

Composing the victorious Area III squad were Joni Asparin, Frank Jun Oligo, Keith Lacson, Felrine Doble, John Mendoza, Paul Paeldan, Luther Huevos, Brandon Diamante, Bernard Escobar, Ralph Montinola, Lanz Chiu, John Ramirez, John Carlo Lucero, Jaymar Carrera and Frederick Ferrer.

"My players' determination paid off. Despite playing against all odds, they did an excellent job of finding a way to play together," Area III coach Joel Mijares said.* CIT
