Referees'
congress scheduled

About 80 volleyball referees from Region VI are expected to attend the Visayas Referees' Congress from Jan. 20 to 22 at the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City next year.

The participants will be designated as national referees level one, two three, four and five, and may be qualified to take international volleyball officiating courses, Roger Banzuela, president of the Philippine Volleyball Federation, said.

The congress, which is organized by the PVF, is held every two years as a requirement of the international volleyball federation, he added.

The event will tackle more sessions on practical officiating rather than theoretical lessons, Banzuela, who also serves as the president of the Negros Occidental Volleyball Association, said.

The Luzon edition of the Referees' Congress is currently going on in Baguio City with about 130 volleyball referees from Cavite, Manila and Batangas joining. *CIT
