Capitol drug
tests negative

Negros Occidental Capitol employees subjected to drug tests on Dec. 8 and 9 all turned out negative, Gov. Joseph Maraņon said yesterday.

Random drug tests were conducted on 490 of the more than 2,000 capitol employees by the Negros Occidental Drug Rehabilitation Foundation Inc. that cost the provincial government P88,200.

The provincial government is conducting random drug tests on its employees to ensure that the Capitol is drug-free, Maraņon said.

On questions on whether Negros Occidental board members will also be subjected to drug tests, Maraņon said they are not under him, let the vice governor order it.*CPG
