Another 4-classroom Zayco Type school building was
inaugurated and turned over at the Brgy. Talubangi Elementary School
in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, recently, a press release
from the Kabankalan government said.
The building funded by the city government cost
P.15 million, and is the ninth to be built in the city. The others
are at barangays Tagucon, Oringao, Binicuil, Talubangi, Linao, Bantayan,
Tabugon and Pinanguinpinan, the press release said.
Kabankalan Mayor Pedro Zayco, Jr., assisted by
Councilor Mamerto Mayoga Jr., Kabankalan division schools superintendent
Rizalino Tortosa, and Talubangi barangay captain Nelson Adlaon,
cut the ceremonial ribbon.
Zayco then turned the building over to the Department
of Education, represented by Tortosa.*

NYE
outreach program
slated in La Carlota City
The Negros Youth for the Environment Inc. will hold
its outreach program called "Pamulong, Pamaskwa kag Paghiliusa,"
Dec. 26, at Brgy. Guintubdan, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental,
a press release from the Silay City Mayor's Office said.
The group will conduct activities such as a medical
mission with volunteer doctors and nurses who will provide free
consultation and medicines, a Christmas party for the children,
and giving of gifts and relief goods; and a fellowship.
Roden Manar is NYE chairman, the press release said.
The NYE members will climb Mt. Kanlaon as their closing activity
on Dec. 27, the press release added.*

sets homecoming
The Serafin Aguilar Chapter of the Order of DeMolay
in Bacolod City will hold its 36th charter anniversary and the 9th
general alumni homecoming, 7 p.m. Dec. 21, at the Akasya Grille
and Restaurant, 17th Street, in Bacolod City, a press release from
the group said yesterday.
The elected Garde du Corps, DeMolay Alumni Chapter
11 officers for 2006 are Meiko Asignacion - president, Marjo Cabawatan
- vice president, Hector Barilla - secretary, Danilo Dionaldo -
treasurer, Mario Oliveros - auditor, Stan Delmar - PIO, Edsel Fanega
- chaplain, and board members Vicente Presbitero, Jing Macaya, Armando
Lumontad, Frank Tumaning, Gilfredo Geolingo, and Ramon Belleza,
the press release added.*
