Globe cellsite construction
draws controversy

The ongoing construction of the Globe cellsite in Doņa Juliana Subdivision in Bacolod City is being questioned by some residents.

Bella Alacapa, a subdivision resident said in a statement sent to the DAILY STAR that there was no discussion or meeting with residents who live near the proposed location.

She claimed that the process for procuring the necessary permit was not followed and the residents were not properly notified by the city engineer.

Insurance company
invests in Bacolod

An international insurance company will open its local branch in Bacolod City on Dec. 21 at the Robinson's Metro-Bacolod.

A press release from City Hall said that BJ Joseph Legaspi, GP Assistant Vice President disclosed that Generali Pilipinas will hire more than 100 Bacoleņos at the start of their operation in the city.

Generali Pilipinas, in cooperation with the office of Mayor Evelio Leonardia, will treat 180 street children in Bacolod City to a children's Christmas party at McDonald's at Lacson Street. The activity dubbed as "Pamaskua sang Generali sa mga Kabata-an sang Bacolod," is a show of support for the children's program of Leonardia.
